"I'd put my money on the sun and solar energy. What a source of power! I hope we don't have to wait 'til oil and coal run out before we tackle that." ~ Thomas Edison (1847-1931)

The green team is a group of environmentally conscious students, faculty, and staff that work together to reduce the energy consumption of Caltech's GPS division. In doing so, we: 1) provide educational tips to the division's workforce; 2) handle energy-related concerns on an individual basis; 3) organize fun events; and 4) establish benchmarks and improve on them. If you are interested in helping out or giving a talk at one of our upcoming meetings, please contact us.

The menu in the left pane links to web resources that are good starting points for questions regarding the two main issues that the Green Team wants to address: Energy Conservation, Recycling, and Sustainabile Living. The links are meant to provide practical information to the Caltech community, and are not exhaustive in scope: e.g., we include tips for conserving energy at school or at home; recycling information for Pasadena and nearby communities; information on recycling different types of materials; and links to environmental news.

Please feel free to contact individual Green Team Volunteers who may be able to provide further information or clarifications regarding specific issues. Also, please feel free to send us your suggestions regarding how practical/ educational you find these resources, links you would like added, or topics you want addressed here.

Please continue to check this section regularly, for the latest news, survey-results, meetings, and presentations.
